Biography of David R. Lawton David R. Lawton is the founder and owner of Lawton and Associates. He resides in Butler, Pennsylvania and lives with his wife and three children, ages eight, ten and twenty two. His career in the Financial and estate planning arena spans over 25 years. A graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in Financial Management, Mr. Lawton began his career by joining his father's investment firm in 1975. The early part of Mr. Lawton's career was spent in the design and administration of qualified retirement plans. While much of Mr. Lawton's energies were devoted to the management of the assets in qualified retirement plans, his true passion was his role as an advisor for those retirees who were about to embark on their journey into retirement. Mr. Lawton founded Lawton and Associates in 1991 and has devoted his practice exclusively to seniors. Mr. Lawton's emphasis in dealing with seniors has been to focus on the issues of control, preservation and safety. He has helped seniors realize that the cornerstone of all financial and estate planning is maintaining control over the assets that have taken a lifetime to accumulate. He has aided them in maintaining control by developing investment strategies that emphasize absolute preservation of principal. This can only be accomplished by embracing a zero risk tolerance for investment loses. By utilizing unique investment opportunities Mr. Lawton has enabled his clients to participate in all the up market gains and side step all down markets losses. Mr. Lawton has sustained a zero loss record for his clients for over seventeen years. Mr. Lawton believes that the only effective way to maintain control is by creating an environment where the burden of excessive taxation is minimized and the stability of retirement assets is fortified. This is best accomplished through zero risk investing. Mr. Lawton believes whole heartily that to those whom much is given much is expected. He recognizes the personal responsibility he has as the steward of his own resources and the awesome responsibility and privilege to guide his clients in fulfilling their own stewardship.
